The Power is in Your Mind

The human mind has enormous power. On a conscious level, a human only uses between two and ten percent of his or her mind’s actual potential. Think about dreams. When you are dreaming, you are living in a fantasy world entirely created by your own mind. Things in your dreams can reveal themselves and surprise you. This fact is phenomenal considering the entire story of your dream is being cooked up by your own mind. You actually tell yourself a full sensory story of which you do not know what the end is until it occurs. Just think for a moment about how utterly amazing that fact is.

Many experts talk about the power of the mind. My favorite way to access this incredible power is with the imagination. Some people like to use the term visualization but I prefer to think of it as imagination because I think it is more powerful that way.

Here is what I want you to do right now. Read over these next simple steps and then try them out as soon as you finish reading them.

1. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, become aware of your body, how you feel, and focus all your energy on the sound of your breathing.

2. Imagine that right now your body looks and feels exactly as you want it to be.

3. Focus on this sensation for as long as you can, in your mind make it as real as possible that you really are the way you see yourself in your mind.

Repeat this process every day if possible. You need to have a clear idea of what you want to look like in order for it to work. If you don’t have a clear picture already, look for a magazine with someone who looks the way you want to look, cut it out and put it somewhere you can see every day. Use this picture for your mental imagination exercise until you no longer need it. You may want to imagine yourself in the very same photo of this person.

The human mind has untapped and incredible power. Scientists only understand a small fraction of the brain’s functionality and they do not even know for certain if thoughts actually originate from the brain.

Science recently established there is a realm which has been named the Unified Field. We cannot see this aspect of reality and it exists “beneath” normal reality. The Unified Field is connected to everything we perceive, and it connects everything to each other. In other words, you are actually connected to your neighbor, to your door, and everything, we are all connected by the Unified Field. Kabbalah, an ancient spiritual practice, has been telling us for centuries that this unseen part of the universe exists. Kabbalah calls it “The Light,” or “the 99 percent realm.” According to Kabbalah this realm composes 99 percent of all reality. Scientists were very excited about the Unified Field and amazingly it is estimated to compose 99 percent of all matter and energy in the universe. We are already connected to the Light, or the Unified Field. I believe with enough practice each person’s brain has the ability to tap into this limitless energy source and achieve anything his or her mind desires.

How to Eradicate Addictions

Quitting smoking, breaking addictions, and eradicating other bad habits is really not as hard as most people think it is. I have a method which I found in a book called “The Dynamic Laws of Healing” by Catherine Ponder. This book deals heavily with mantras which are phrases that you repeat over and over in your mind. If worded and done correctly, mantras can be extremely powerful.

Please note that this method may not work for everyone. I have never met anyone who tried it fully and had it not work, but common sense tells me there are some people who will need additional help in quitting their addictions.

Also keep in mind that this program is not an on / off switch. The mantras are definite statements which sound like an on / off switch but these mantras always take time to work. It could take a week, a month, or even a year. One thing is for certain, the more frequently you perform the exercise, and the longer you do it for, the faster your bad habit or addiction will be eradicated.

When you first start your mantra, depending on your addiction, it may seem to be an absolute ridiculous thing to be saying to yourself. This reaction is totally normal. Lets face it, if you already had these mantras in your mind, you would not be addicted!

You will likely look at the mantras pertaining to your addiction or bad habit and think that the opposite is true, and right now, it is. This reason is the cause of your addiction. Right now you like doing the thing you want to stop. If you didn’t like it, you wouldn’t do it. That truth is why the mantras are so incredibly effective. You are telling yourself over and over again that you despise something which you currently like. Eventually the mantras will become true and you will be free.

Say the mantras in your mind as often as possible. Eventually they will become true. Use the following exercise every single day until you break your addiction or bad habit. Once the addiction or habit is broken you can do the exercise before bed each night. You may also want to say the mantra in your mind every time you feel an urge to start up your addiction or bad habit again.

Do the mantras during the day as well. When you are walking somewhere, sitting in a waiting room, or any time, say the mantras in your mind. The only time I would not recommend doing them is while driving or operating heavy machinery.

Once your addiction has been broken, you must still continue using the mantras. You may not need to do them every day anymore, but you will still need to do them, possibly as often as every other day for a long, long time. Does this commitment seem intimidating? If breaking addictions was easy, no one would be addicted to anything. In the end it is well worth the effort.

Every single person I ever gave the mantra to for quitting smoking has successfully quit. Some people started up again, but only because they stopped doing the mantra on a regular basis. You must continue the mantras until the addiction is so utterly repulsive to you that there is simply no way you would ever start up again. Even at such a time, I still recommend doing the mantras at least once or twice a week.

If you have an addiction not listed in this section, simply reword one of the phrases to suit your addiction. You may only need to change the words “smoker” and “cigarettes” in some cases. In others, you may have to reword things more.

- Part 1: Relaxation -

Find a comfortable place and dim the lights. If you perform meditation normally, assume the position you prefer for meditation. It can be sitting straight up in a comfortable or flat chair, sitting cross legged, or even lying on your back on your bed. I personally meditate lying on either my futon mattress or on the floor. I put a rolled up towel under my neck, another one under my lower back, and a pillow under my knees.

Close your eyes and focus on the sound of your breathing. Take note of how your body feels. Pay attention to where you are tense and where you are relaxed. If any thoughts come into your mind, allow them to come in, but do not feed them. Just let them come and let them go.

When you are in as deep a relaxed state as you think you will be, start repeating your mantra. Repeat the mantra over and over and over for as long as you possibly can. Repeat it until the words sound funny and don’t have meaning and then repeat some more.

Repeat these mantras to create the response indicated at the top.

Quitting Smoking

During the relaxation exercise say in your mind over and over:

“I am not a smoker. I hate the taste and smell of cigarettes”


When you feel the urge to smoke shout in your mind:

“NO, I AM NOT A SMOKER! I HATE the taste and smell of cigarettes!”


Quitting Drinking

During the relaxation exercise say in your mind over and over:

“I am not an alcohol drinker. I hate the taste and smell of alcohol.”


When you feel the urge to drink shout in your mind:

“NO, I AM NOT AN ALCOHOL DRINKER! I HATE the taste and smell of alcohol!”


Quitting a Food Addiction

If you are addicted to a particular food, say rice and beans for example, use the following mantra to remove all desire to eat that food. Substitute any food you are addicted to for “rice and beans” in order to stop eating that food.

During the relaxation exercise say in your mind over and over:

“I am not a rice and beans eater. I hate taste of rice and beans.”


When you feel the urge to eat rice and beans shout in your mind:

“NO, I AM NOT A RICE AND BEANS EATER! I HATE the taste of rice and beans!”


Reducing Your Addiction to a Food Without Eradicating All Desire for It

Lets say you are addicted to a particular food, rice and beans for example again, and you want to eat less of it, but you still want to be able to enjoy it in moderation.

Substitute any food you are addicted to for “rice and beans” in order to stop eating that food.

During the relaxation exercise say in your mind over and over:

“I am not a big rice and beans eater. I only eat rice and beans very occasionally.”


When you feel the urge to eat rice and beans when you have had it recently shout in your mind:

“NO, I AM NOT A BIG RICE AND BEANS EATER! I ONLY eat rice and beans very occasionally!”


Note: This mantra may not work because it is not definite. If it does not work, use the mantra before it to remove all desire for your addicted food. Once you feel your desire for the food to be diminished, stop doing the mantra and only start up again if you feel you are beginning to eat too much of that food again.


Quitting Pot

During the relaxation exercise say in your mind over and over:

“I am not a pot smoker. I hate the taste and smell of pot.”


When you feel the urge to smoke pot shout in your mind:

“NO, I AM NOT A POT SMOKER! I HATE the taste and smell of pot!”


Quitting Heroin

During the relaxation exercise say in your mind over and over:

“I am not a heroin user. I hate the way heroin makes me feel.”


When you feel the urge to use heroin shout in your mind:

“NO, I AM NOT A HEROIN USER! I HATE the way heroin makes me feel!”


Note: Heroin addiction is extremely serious. If you feel you may be addicted to heroin, seek medical help in addition to using mantras.


Quitting Cocaine

During the relaxation exercise say in your mind over and over:

“I am not a cocaine user. I hate the way cocaine makes me feel.”


When you feel the urge to use cocaine shout in your mind:

“NO, I AM NOT A COCAINE USER! I HATE the way cocaine makes me feel!”


Note: Cocaine addiction is extremely serious. If you feel you may be addicted to cocaine, seek medical help in addition to using mantras.


Quitting Crack

During the relaxation exercise say in your mind over and over:

“I am not a crack smoker. I hate the way crack makes me feel.”


When you feel the urge to smoke crack shout in your mind:

“NO, I AM NOT A CRACK SMOKER! I HATE the way crack makes me feel!”

The Magic of Milk and Honey

In the bible when Moses is leading his people to the promised land, this special land is frequently called “The land that flows with milk and honey,” or “The land of milk and honey.” According to Kabbalah, every single thing in the first five books of the bible is a code of secret meanings and truths about all aspects of life and the universe.

The promised land is “The land of milk and honey.” I believe milk and honey is literally the food mixture that can bring each person to his or her own personal “Promised Land.” Milk and honey will help you to add muscle size if you drink a lot of it. It is also an extremely powerful appetite suppressant so it is an invaluable tool for losing bodyfat. When you drink a large glass of milk and honey, especially with some protein powder in it (it has to be all natural protein powder) you can curtail your appetite for hours. Even a small amount of this drink will make food cravings disappear after about ten to fifteen minutes. Have you ever been so hungry that you felt like your stomach was “eating itself”? I have, and as an experiment I drank just a small amount of The Milk and Honey Shake. In a few minutes my stomach settled down and I was no longer hungry.

How to Make “The Milk and Honey Shake” – My Personal Recipe

Put 25 grams of natural whey protein powder into your shaker, pour some honey in, pour in as much whole milk as you think you want, and shake it up. If it does not mix well, get a larger shaker or a glass jar and use more milk. Experiment and use the amount of milk and honey which will make the drink the best tasting for you. You cannot go wrong in the amount of milk and honey you use as long as the drink tastes good to you. It does not matter how big the shake is! Even if you flat out stuff yourself you will not screw things up. Try to use the least amount of the shake necessary in order to feel satisfied. However much or little you need, that amount is the correct quantity.

You must use whole milk for the shake to work and you do not have to add protein powder if you do not want to. The fat in the milk will not harm you and it is important because it slows digestion and reduces the insulin response. Milk is perfect the way it is, there is no need to ever use skim or reduced fat milk. If you are lactose intolerant, take some Lactaid pills with your shake. Do not use Lactaid milk for The Milk and Honey Shake and do not heat it in the microwave. Naturally occurring lactose is important for the shake to work properly and microwave radiation may interfere with the energy patterns of foods. Use organic whole milk if it is available. Non-organic milk has hormones in it which may reduce the effectiveness of The Milk and Honey Shake.

I prefer a shaker to a blender for The Milk and Honey Shake mainly because shakers are more convenient, but also because when I use a blender I have a tendency to make the shake too big.

When and How to Use “The Milk and Honey Shake”

Use the shake any time you are hungry and you are about to eat something not on The Vacation Diet. Any time you feel you are going to binge on something, make The Milk and Honey Shake instead even if you have to make a giant sized shake.

If it is before a workout, it is best to have only a few sips of The Milk and Honey Shake if you find yourself really hungry. Just have a couple of sips and wait five minutes. If you are still about to eat something else, have a few more sips and keep sipping every five minutes until you are no longer hungry. The total amount of calories you consume will be very small compared to what you could take in if you were to cheat on the diet and start to eat foods which are not allowed.

Constructing a Home Gym

Before I get into the various equipment for your home gym, I want to address some pros and cons of using a home gym as opposed to a dedicated gym or health club.

The Pros to a Home Gym:

It is never closed.

You will never talk yourself out of a workout because it is raining, snowing, too cold or too hot, nor will you use any other similar excuse not to go to the gym.

There is never a wait for any machine or station.

You can choose all the music.

Less expensive in the long run because once you own everything, there is nothing more to pay.

You can exercise without your shirt on and flex in the mirror, check yourself out anytime you want, etc.

You are free to experiment with training options that would not be practical with an outside gym or health club, like doing three sets of each exercise every hour for six hours, doing multiple cardio sessions spaced out during the day, etc.

The Cons to a Home Gym

The phone, other people at home, and things around you may distract you from your workouts.

You are in your home environment so there are no inherent subconscious cues to tell you to exercise. This is a big problem although there are ways around it explained later.

The equipment may not be as varied based on the gym you build

More expensive in the short run depending on the gym you build.

Takes up room in your home

If you don’t buy a power rack, you will not be able to perform sets to failure without a friend or family member to spot you.

In the end, you are the one who has to decide if a home gym is for you. I recommend you start out at a regular gym or health club. This way you can get a sense of the energy in such an environment. Your home is ultimately a relaxing place to be. When you work out, you want to be loose and warmed up, but you do not want to be relaxed in the sense that you may become tired or convince yourself to cut your training session short.

When you are home, your TV, computer, kitchen, and all sorts of other distractions will be anywhere from five feet away to up or down a flight of stairs. When you are in a regular gym, you are there and that is it. If you cut a workout short, you will have to leave, which means you now have to walk, ride your bike, drive, take the bus, or take the train home. There is a trip involved and by that right you will be much less likely to stop a workout before it is completed. You are already at the gym so you might as well finish your workout. Many times I have personally set out to go to the gym not really feeling like going and I only intended to do some light cardio. Most of the time I ended up lifting some weights too and I’m sure I did far more cardio than I would have had I trained at home.

By that same token, if you have a gym in your home, it is only between five feet to a flight of stairs away. I know for a fact there have been days when I didn’t feel like going to the gym, not because I was overtrained, but just because I didn’t feel like doing anything. If there had been a gym in my home, I absolutely would have trained at home and had at least a better training session than doing nothing. I do have a few sets of dumbbells and at times I have used them when I just didn’t feel like dragging myself to the gym. If I had also had an adjustable bench and some barbells, my at home workouts would have been even better.

Ultimately as far as I’m concerned, the best solution is to belong to a gym and also have a home gym for use on those days when you don’t feel like leaving the house.

Remember, what is best for you is not necessarily best for me. You have to find the method that works for you which is another reason I think it is important to join a gym in the beginning. At this point I could definitely get fantastic results with a home gym, but if I had just started training, even with a complete home gym, I might not have the correct mental attitude towards training to get the best results at home. This kind of integrated understanding of how to train with enough intensity to produce results without becoming overtrained is something that for most people will have to be born in a gym.

Also keep in mind that canceling a gym membership because you build a home gym and get better workouts at home is a lot easier and less expensive than getting rid of an entire home gym because you realize your workouts are ten times better in a public gym.

The Vacation Diet can be easily adjusted to any level of home gym you construct. It is as easy as following the section, “The Beginner Basic Routine – Training at Home” and simply adding in the exercises you can based on the equipment you buy.

Finally, the Home Gym:

The most important item in your gym: The Stereo.

The main pitfall of the home gym is usually not a lack of equipment but that you do not have the subconscious psychological cues that tell you to start exercising, complete your workout, and exercise with intensity. A great way to solve this problem is to have a fantastic stereo with fast paced exciting music and to only use this selection of songs for your workouts. When the music goes on, it will create a Pavlovian response that will tell your entire neurological system it is time to start training. If you have a cardio machine and you like to read for your pre lifting cardio sessions as I do, the simple act of doing so will also create a similar response and you may not want music on as it can be distracting while reading. Once it is time to start with the weights, the stereo had better be turned on immediately. I find the best choices of music are any dance related songs (techno, trance, break beats, dance, etc.) and fast paced rock and metal. I personally prefer dance type songs when I exercise.

Below is the equipment I recommend. The items are listed from most to least important, although the seven numbered pieces of equipment are ideal for a complete basic home gym.

1. Dumbbells: The weights should be from as light as you will ever need to as heavy as you currently need plus 15 pounds. Personally I would have 2 lbs, and then 5 lbs up to 140 lbs in 5 lb increments. With dumbbells you can easily bench press off the floor, do curls, overhead extensions, two hand dumbbell rows, deadlift, calf raises, and others. You may want to have ten pound increments to start off with as dumbbells can be expensive when you buy a whole set. There are also dumbbells systems which look like a fancy single pair of dumbbells but can be adjusted from 5 to 50 or even up to 150 lbs. They are not cheap, but they are less expensive and take up far less space than buying the dumbbells separately.

2. Adjustable Bench: an adjustable bench that can go from flat to inclined to straight up and down will allow you to do a vast array of exercises that are nearly impossible to perform without an adjustable bench. You can do one hand dumbbell rows, flat bench, incline bench, pullovers, and several others. Many adjustable benches come with a barbell. If you do not plan to get a power rack, opt for an adjustable bench that will allow you to rack a barbell. Just make sure to get a friend or family member to spot you or simply err on the side of caution when going near failure. Never lift any weight where you feel there is a chance you will not be able to complete the last rep or so if you do not have a spotter. Lifting two or three less reps is a lot better than having a heavy barbell sitting on your chest, neck, or hips. When looking for an adjustable bench, many have attachments at the bottom for leg curls and leg extensions. Try to find one that does not have this option as it can get in the way of other exercises like pullovers and one hand dumbbell rows. Leg extensions and leg curls are not nearly as good as doing squats and semi stiff legged deadlifts with a barbell or dumbbells so these attachments really are not necessary. Also look for an adjustable bench where the bottom part can also be raised if you can find one. This way you will be more stable when performing incline presses.

3. Barbell: Dumbbells require slightly different neurological activation than barbells. The stabilizer units (muscles that keep the weight moving in the right direction) are also different. Having both dumbbells and barbells is a huge help to just one or the other. A single barbell can allow you to do barbell rows, barbell curls, upright rows, shoulder presses, deadlifts, powercleans and others. If your adjustable bench allows you to rack a barbell you can do flat bench press and incline bench press as well. Make sure you have weights that will go heavy enough for you. Have enough weight so you could load to bar up with more than you can lift so if you get stronger and need more weight, it is available without having to buy it.

4. A Power Rack: Power racks are great because once you have one, you never need a spotter for your home gym. One of the main purposes of a home gym is to be able to work out without leaving your home and without the help of anyone around you. Once you have a power rack you can feel free to lift heavy (as long as you control the weight so you don’t injure yourself of course) without worrying that you might not be able to get the last rep. Simply set the safety bars so you can slide out from the weight if you can not lift it and you are all set. It is also useful when you are using a weight that is not too heavy but you want to do a set of as many reps as you can (to failure). Power racks also double as a self spotting squat rack.

5. Cardio Machine - Recumbent Stationary Bike, Elliptical Trainer, or Treadmill: I currently prefer the recumbent stationary bike. This is the best to use if you plan to read a book during cardio, which is the best way to pass the time for the cardio sessions before weightlifting. An elliptical trainer is a close second for reading and is better overall for cardio. I do not recommend looking at a TV or computer monitor before the weightlifting portion of your workouts. TV and computer monitors emit particles which go straight into your eyes making you tired which could very likely interfere with the quality of your weightlifting sessions. For the optional cardio at the end, even just five minutes of cardio will be a help and this would be a good time to watch TV or play video games. Video games can hold my attention for hours. Books will hold my attention for twenty to thirty minutes, sometimes longer, but it depends on how good the book is and in what place in the story I am. Race car video games by far hold my attention the longest. Make sure you have water and your post workout drink nearby. After thirty minutes or even less depending on how you feel, start to take small sips from your shake. Always make sure you stay hydrated with water. Get up and refill your water bottle if it gets empty.

6. Lat Pull Down Station: More than just lat pull downs are possible at this station. You can do tricep push downs with all the grips which includes the A bar, the rope, the straight bar, the cambered bar, and the one hand grip. For lat pull downs you can also use an array of grips including the wide grip, the close grip, and the medium grip with parallel handles. The wide grip can be done over handed and underhanded.

Important note: most home lat pull down stations and other pulley machines are not properly oiled. It is extremely important that you carefully oil all the pulleys and the area where the weights slide up and down. When those areas are not oiled, extra friction makes it require much more effort to lift the weight up than to lower it. When you lower a weight, also called the eccentric portion of the movement, you are doing the work which will eventually build muscle. If you were only to lift a weight and have someone help you to lower it, you would build strength but not muscle size which was demonstrated in a research study some time ago. Muscles burn fat so make sure the machine is oiled.

7. Leg Press Station: Leg pressing is a fantastic exercise and is vastly underrated. Squatting is well known as the bodybuilder’s best friend for leg development, but in my opinion leg pressing while it may not be quite as good for building mass, is better overall. Its ability to add on size is only slightly less than squatting and there is no compressing of the spine. As for a fat burning workout, the two exercises are essentially interchangeable and leg press is easier on the joints. You can also do calf raises in the leg press station. Just be careful as many leg press stations can crash down on you if the weight is too heavy or if it slips out when doing calf raises. If the weight slips free of your when doing calf raises the injury can potentially be fatal so be careful. When doing calf raises, make absolutely sure the leg press machine’s brakes are in the “locked” position which will prevent the weight from falling on you if you slip.

All the above stations will provide you with a fantastic home gym. The first three items alone would be an incredible improvement over just a pair of dumbbells.

If you have a huge space and you want more for your gym, here is the rest of the equipment in the order of most to least important:

Pull up station, seated cable row station, cambered barbell, cable cross over station (you can do cable crossovers, every tricep pushdown, every cable curl if there is an attachment at the bottom, and many rotator cuff and core exercises if the attachment can be moved to the middle), hyperextension station, seated or standing calf raise station.

The Appetite Suppressant in Your Refrigerator
How to Reduce Food Cravings and Suppress Your Appetite Naturally

Did you know that you might already have one of the best appetite suppressants right in your very own refrigerator? It is a food which has been around as long as people, and not only has it been shown in clinical studies to help people lose weight and preserve muscle, it is also one of the greatest appetite suppressants there is!

What is it? Get ready, it is plain, old fashioned, cow’s milk! You may have skim or low fat milk and if you do, that is fine, finish it. When you are done, buy some delicious whole milk. What about all that fat? Well guess what, the fat in milk will absolutely not harm you. In fact, the fat in whole milk will slow digestion making it harder to be stored as body fat. Buy organic whole milk if it is available, regular milk has hormones in it which may make it harder to lose weight.

How to control your appetite:

Here is what you do: The next time you feel hungry, pour yourself half a glass of whole milk. Now wait five or ten minutes. Are you still hungry? You may not be full but at the very least you probably are not hungry anymore which means you just controlled your appetite with 75 calories! Now if you are still hungry, have another half glass of milk. Repeat as many times as necessary until you do not feel hungry anymore. You cannot go wrong!

All you do now to lose some weight is each time you get hungry again have the smallest amount of milk you need in order to feel not hungry! You will be limiting your calories and you will be feeding yourself quality nutrients while keeping yourself from feeling hungry all at the same time! Now you cannot live on just milk alone, but if you drink plenty of water along with it, take a multi vitamin, a multi mineral, and a fiber supplement, you will lose weight and stay healthy!

Do you ever get hunger pangs? You know, its like you are so hungry that the acid in your stomach builds up and it feels like your stomach is “eating itself”? Did you know that this function of the human body is actually there for a reason? When we were evolving we would often not have enough food to eat, when our stomach acid builds up and we don't eat, the acid eventually continues into the rest of our digestive system and literally "eats" all sorts of junk which was not digested fully! Its actually good to let yourself go to that point and not eat every now and again. If you have an ulcer, however, do not use this technique, but everyone else can feel free to use it! Remember, if your stomach acid and hunger pangs start to get too uncomfortable, just have some milk! Sometimes when your stomach fills up with acid it will feel like you can not drink that much milk because your stomach feels full. It actually is full of acid. All you do is have a few sips of milk and wait until you can have some more. The milk will neutralize the stomach acid and your hunger pangs will eventually disappear! After a few minutes you may even feel no longer hungry from just the first few sips alone!

One day soon, wait until you feel those stomach pangs. Then drink half a glass of whole milk and wait five minutes. You will notice that your hunger pangs are gone! If they are not, simply have another half glass every five minutes or so until your stomach feels good again. It may take two full glasses or maybe even more, but the amount of calories in three full glasses of milk is much less than in a typical lunch and less than half of what is in a “normal” dinner! And you will feel satisfied! Sometimes it only takes a few sips of milk to not feel hungry anymore!

One more thing just for fun:

The next time you feel like you are really, really hungry, drink as much milk as you can. Make sure you don’t have anywhere to go because I guarantee you that between five and fifteen minutes later, not only will you feel totally full, but you will feel absolutely stuffed! You might even feel a bit over stuffed and maybe even slightly sick and need to lie down! An entire quart of whole milk is 600 calories. That is a lot of milk to drink at once, and even if for some reason you don’t feel full after that much, you will in a few minutes! A Whopper at MacDonald’s has 700 calories and I guarantee you that one whopper will not fill you up as much as an entire quart of whole milk! If you drink just half a quart of milk, which is a lot, you only consumed a mere 300 calories and you at the very least will not feel hungry again for hours!!!

The Colon Cleanse Detox Cure

I have seen and tried a number of cleanses. This one is so far the best and I have borrowed from many cleanses to create it. I have used it many times and I always feel great during and afterwards. According to many new age doctors and health practitioners, colon cleanses and other detox diets have cured a variety of diseases including cancer. That being said, I’m legally obligated to say that this article is for informational and educational purposes only, it is not medical advice, and you should consult your physician before you begin any new diet, exercise, or supplementation program.

Here are the products you will need:
Note: You can cleanse yourself very well by using only the fiber and vitamin C. If you have 6 servings of fiber each day along with 6,000 mg Vitamin C each time you have a fiber serving (mixed in the recommended water), and nothing else, you will cleanse your colon thoroughly.

1. Yherba Prima brand Daily Fiber Formula or Daily Colon Care. Ultimate Fiber is also very good. Just buy one of these products, take your pick. Note: Postmenopausal women must not use any of these fiber formulas. Psyllium Husk, an ingredient in each product has been shown to increase cholesterol in post menopausal women. Use extra “Super Seed” or Rice Fiber Plus instead. Fiber helps to directly cleanse the colon.

2. Greens First It contains condensed vegetables and natural things which are all very good for you and will help to correct nutritional deficiencies.

3. Garden of Life brand Super Seed. This is a powder formula that contains many different seeds. These seeds provide fiber as well as many other important nutrients.

Rice Fiber Plus Contains nutritional fiber, significant quantities of gamma oryzanol and several other phytonutrients - all very good stuff.

4. Bentonite Minerals. This is a gel like substance. Its actually a kind of clay and it cleans the plaque built up in the colon, which everyone has. Any brand will do.

5. Vitamin C. I prefer it in tablets of 1,000 mg. Good for the immune system and in the correct doses it will clean your blood and help clean your colon.

6. Multi Vitamin. Make sure it doesn’t have minerals.

7. Multi Mineral. Must be separate from the multi vitamin.

Make sure there is NO Coenzyme Q-10 (Co Q10), and make sure there is NO Chromium Picolinate in your vitamin or mineral. Co Q10 is very bad for anyone who exercises, and Chromium Picolinate causes damage to the chromosomes. Other forms of Chromium seem to be alright.

8. Alpha Lipoic Acid. This supplement cleanses the liver and kidneys. It is also a powerful anti-oxidant. Very important.

9. Organic Plain Yogurt. The Vitamin C in these doses can sometimes kill some of the good bacteria in the digestive system. Organic Plain Yogurt will replenish the body with these vital organisms to health. It also adds some protein which is low overall in this diet. If you are a bodybuilder you may want to add in several extra servings of the yogurt and take it with some natural whey protein.

If you use only the above ingredients, you will lose some bodyfat and you may feel very hungry before a few days are up. A good idea is to use the above only, and when you are so hungry that you feel like quitting add in:

10. Organic Maple Syrup. Grade B or C is supposedly the best, but Grade A will do if the others are not available.

11. Fresh Squeezed Organic Orange Juice.

12. Fresh Juiced Organic Carrot Juice.

13. Fresh Squeezed Organic Lemon Juice with or without the Maple Syrup Mixed in.

The maple syrup mixed in with the lemon juice is delicious!!! I love the taste. Its like a great tasting lemonade. Make up a whole bunch of it if you are really hungry, it will actually help with the cleanse because the sugar in the maple syrup will pull liquid out of your colon and the lemon juice will help the cleanse the colon, liver, and kidneys. Lemon Juice with Maple Syrup is the mainstay of the colon cleanse diet in the book, “90 Days to Prostate Health.”

I personally think the best way is to do it without the maple syrup. If you’re going to diet, you might as well burn some fat while you’re at it right? If you are so hungry you want to quit, add in the syrup, otherwise don’t. Its way better to add in syrup than to go off the diet. If you want to quit, just have as much maple syrup and lemon juice as you need to feel full.

3 days are the minimum for this cleanse, although you will benefit from just one day. Up to 7 days I would say is the max. So how do you do it?

Here is a good basic way to do the cleanse:
Make sure you have 5 servings of each of the ingredients per day, except for the vitamins and minerals. Somewhere between 1 and 3 servings of those are probably right. I think its a bad idea to take more than 2 servings of vitamins per day. I think its a good idea to take separate Calcium and Magnesium as they compete for receptor sites. I have taken too large doses of Multi Minerals in the past and I ended up feeling sick, but I also could feel that it was correcting some deficiencies in my body.

So 5 servings of fiber, Greens First, Super Seed or Rice Fiber Plus, Vitamin C, Alpha Lipoic Acid, and Bentonite Minerals. Have more if you want. I normally consume much greater amounts of vitamin C as shown below which I feel is very important to cleansing yourself completely. One serving of Alpha Lipoic Acid is usually between 300 and 600 mg.

Here is an example, feel free to follow it to the letter if you choose:

Meal 1:
Fiber – 2 full servings mixed with the recommended water
Vitamin C – 6,000 mg
Note: Post menopausal women use Super Seed instead of the Fiber mix here

Meal 2:
2 servings Greens First
2 servings Super Seed or Rice Fiber Plus
2 servings of Multi Minerals

Meal 3:
2 servings Bentonite Minerals
Organic Lemon Juice Mixed with Maple Syrup if you are hungry
2 servings Alpha Lipoic Acid

Meal 4:
2 servings Super Seed or Rice Fiber Plus
Vitamin C – 6,000 mg
Note: Post menopausal women use Super Seed instead of the Fiber mix here

Meal 5:
2 servings Yherba Prima Fiber. Post menopausal women use Super Seed or Rice Fiber Plus instead.
Vitamin C – 6,000 mg

Organic Lemon Juice Mixed with Maple Syrup if you are hungry

Before Bed:
3 Servings Organic Plain Yogurt

If you feel crappy or like you are going to get sick, its from the toxins going out of your body, and some of them being digested and first going into your blood. Increase the vitamin C. The worse thing that can happen from too much vitamin C is you will get diarrhea, unless you’re sick and can’t take it or your allergic or something like that. If you are allergic to vitamin C, obviously you cannot take it at all and you cannot drink lemon juice. Diarrhea from extra vitamin C is much better than getting the flu because you took too little and the toxins being released made you sick. You may get diarrhea from the vitamin C anyway. If you do, simply increase the amount of fiber and it will correct the problem.

I personally just take as much of each thing as I feel my body needs. Its usually 6 grams of Vitamin C along with my a few servings of fiber several times per day as in the example. Super Seed and Perfect Food get mixed together and are frequently separate from the other things. I also take extra minerals, and lots of magnesium. I tend to break up my day into more feedings then the six “meals” listed in the example, but for the sake of ease, following the example the way it is will yield very good results.

When you finish the cleanse, the first thing you should eat is Organic Plain Yogurt. Yogurt is very important because it restores positive bacteria into your digestive tract which helps keep your body functioning at its best. Yogurt is especially important after finishing a cycle of antibiotics as they kill positive bacteria in your digestive system. After the cleanse, which I usually do for three days, I will have as much yogurt as I can until I’m full. I take it with Lactaid pills because I am lactose intolerant, and this is what I eat for the next half day or so. Frequently after a colon cleanse, my lactose intolerance disappears for several months but even so I like to start with the Yogurt and the Lactaid pills just to be safe.

Perform this cleanse one to three times per year for three to seven days each time. There you have it! I hope this diet helps you, I know I always feel much better when I am finished with it!

The Full Detox Diet

This diet is designed to fully detoxify your entire body over the course of many weeks. It will also keep you fully nourished and very healthy. You could theoretically stay on this diet indefinitely and you would remain extremely healthy for the rest of your life. As a long term diet, this program is far superior to The Colon Cleanse Detox Cure. As a short term diet, The Colon Cleanse Detox Cure is superior. You may notice many similarities between the two diets. A very good idea would be to first perform the Colon Cleanse Detox Cure for three to seven days and then move directly to this program, The Full Detox Diet.

If you add Bentonite minerals to your breakfast in this program, you will fully clean your colon after two months. The Colon Cleanse Detox Cure will more rapidly cleanse your colon but it is not a program you can remain on for much longer than seven days and it is not a long enough program to fully detoxify your entire body.

This program is designed to be used for a minimum of six weeks. One day per week while on this program you may consume any foods you want but the one rule is the food must be Organic. Non organic foods can contain 15,000 different chemicals that do not legally have to be listed on the label. This problem is partly why people end up so toxic to begin with. If you absolutely have to eat at a non organic restaurant, order pasta, milk, or eggs. Drink a large glass of organic whole milk before you leave to keep yourself from binging on other foods.

After six weeks are up if you decide to go off the diet, try to perform the full day’s program at least one day of each week.

The quantities shown below are just a suggestion. Adjust the amounts up or down depending on your personal needs. If you ever feel hungry or crave foods, simply consume more Milk and Yogurt. This diet is one of those rare cases where because of the diet’s unique cleansing nature, it is almost impossible to gain fat even if you have very large amounts of the foods shown.

Bodybuilders may feel free to add in natural whey protein to the meals that have milk. Bodybuilders can also add in extra milk, yogurt, and protein meals to meet daily protein needs which should almost never be less than 1 gram per pound of bodyweight. The Vitamin Shoppe online is a great place to buy whey protein. For the highest quality whey protien, but also more expensive buy Dream Protein.

Take Lactaid pills with the milk and yogurt if you are lactose intolerant as I am. Lactaid is the brand name for a lactase enzyme supplement. Any brand will do. Anywhere a supplement is shown and no brand is specified, feel free to use any brand you can find.

Multi Vitamins and Multi Minerals must be in a separate pill. They must not contain chromium picolinate because it causes chromosome damage. Other forms of chromium seem to be alright. The pills also must NOT contain Coenzyme Q10, aka CoQ10. This supplement was once thought to be an anti oxidant, but studies have shown that it prevents progress in exercising individuals probably due to a body damaging pro oxidant effect.

Post menopausal women must not consume Yherba Prima brand Daily Fiber Formula or Colon Care. Psyllium husk, one of the ingredients, has been shown to increase cholesterol in postmenopausal women.

Breakfast:
3 to 5 organic lemons freshly squeezed into juice
mixed with enough organic maple syrup to make it taste good.
Optional for added colon cleanse: 3 servings Bentonite minerals

Mid Morning Nutrients:
2 servings Greens First
2 servings Garden of Life brand Super Seed or Rice Fiber Plus
2 servings Yherba Prima Daily Fiber Formula or Colon Care (post menopausal women do not take this supplement)
