1. The Vacation Diet is intended to be a kosher and vegetarian diet. In The Vacation Diet I recommend whey protein made by Supplement Direct. My mother
recently suggested that I read the ingredients again, more carefully this
time. To my dismay, one of the ingredients is listed as "Bovine serum albumen." Bovine serum albumen is cow's blood with the red blood cells removed. Not
only is the Supplement Direct brand not Kosher, but its not even vegetarian! Being both Jewish and vegetarian, I was very upset
having consumed massive amounts of this product over the past year that I have been using it. There are several other brands of whey protein recommended in
The Vacation Diet and they are both Kosher and vegetarian.
2. When The Vacation Diet was written, the product "Greens First" was only available through a doctor. As an alternative, I suggested a product called "Perfect
Food."
Perfect Food tastes terrible to most people, although I personally have grown to like it. Greens First is the exact supplement used during my personal
transformation, it tastes great, and I feel it is a superior product to "Perfect Food."
